Position Summary
MSG believes everyone deserves access to great education, quality jobs, and a stable life, especially those who have been historically excluded from opportunity. The Career Specialist brings that mission to life at MSG's Parent Resource Center (PRC), a newly opened location in North Tulsa still in its early stages of growth, serving North Tulsa residents facing obstacles to education and employment. This is a ground-floor opportunity for someone who is energized by community building and excited to help establish and grow a new presence in North Tulsa.
Day-to-day, the Career Specialist conducts weekly one-on-one meetings and workshops covering job search skills, resume writing, and interview preparation, and also attends community events to raise awareness and connect new individuals to services. Working as part of MSG's Community Initiatives Team, this role also collaborates closely with a network of community-based organizations to connect individuals to career pathways and MSG programs. The work is meaningful and sometimes challenging, but it changes lives.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Customer Engagement & Outreach
- Conduct outreach and follow-up with potential customers through calls, texts, and in-person contact to engage individuals in career services at the PRC.
- Create a welcoming environment for walk-ins and new visitors, effectively communicating what MSG does and connecting individuals to the right services.
- Lead orientations and discovery meetings to introduce individuals to available services, assess employment history, education, and goals, and refer customers to appropriate internal programs, training, or support resources.
- Attend community events and outreach activities monthly (and more as needed) to promote MSG's workforce programs and engage North Tulsa residents.
Career Services & Workshop Facilitation
- Educate customers on job application processes, resume writing, and interview preparation through weekly workshops and one-on-one support.
- Follow up with workshop participants to confirm next steps and ensure continued engagement in services.
- Connect customers to MSG training pathways and career advisors when they are ready to advance in their education or career journey.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations in North Tulsa to strengthen referral networks and expand access to services.
- Attend team and partner meetings, contributing insights from customer experience to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of customer engagement, services provided, and program referrals, and submit required reports in alignment with MSG procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 or more years of experience in customer service, career services, workforce development, education, community outreach, or similar areas
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Experience facilitating orientations, workshops, or group presentations
- Knowledge of job search techniques, resume writing, interviewing, and employment readiness best practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain detailed documentation
- Comfortable using digital tools, databases, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce or similar systems is a plus
- Must have schedule flexibility; occasional evening and weekend work required
- Must have personal transportation that can be used throughout the workday

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
